Then pop in to our Shop on Victoria Street and pick up a pack of Anthony Zinonos new Mini DIY Collage kits... that's right paper fans... just like his DIY Collage Kits, but now they fit in the palm of your hand, your back pocket or a small envelope and are suitable for any travel / collage emergency! Today we received a wonderful package from Apak. The delivery was filled to the brim with new limited edition prints (including Water Break, Family Expedition and Family Hike, featured above). Grab them in store today.

Aaron Piland and Ayumi Kajikawa Piland are the fantastic magical duo known as APAK. They are a childlike husband and wife collaborative art group who live among the fury conifer giants in a little cottage on the outskirts of Portland, Oregon. They create artwork together as a way of exploring the beauty, mystery, and magic of life as well as expressing their love for life and each other.

They are known in particular for creating rich and colorful gouache/acrylic paintings on wood featuring the Utopian lives and adventures of curious little beings living in lush fantastic environments surrounded by friendly little animals, the landscapes are familiar yet surreal, hinting at a fantastic narrative while suggesting truths about the real word at the same time.

Today sees the launch of Glasgow International 2010, the two weeks out of the year when Glasgow celebrates is vibrant arts community by hosting events and exhibitions in venues varying from Studio's to major Museums. This year, Joseph Beuys' paper works are being shown under the impressive Artist Rooms Project at the Hunterian, along side other relevant pieces, such as Andy Warhol's portrait of Beuys (shown above).

The Common Guild is hosting a photography exhibition intriguingly titled Images or Shadows of Devine Things (image above). A black and white body of work by Gerald Bryne demonstrating the constant presence of the past. Bryne has also been commissioned by GI to produce a film titled A Thing is a Hole in a Thing it is not - a bit of a tongue twister! It will be shown at the GI hub, and promises to be an ambitious and challenging investigation into the ideals of Minimalism.

If all this is getting a bit to heavy, then there is always the Glasgow Beer And Pub Project, where you can brew your own in the surroundings of the Market Gallery, with the chance of having your pint left on a plinth for all to muse! For full listings have a peep here.

Spring is here folks and we should be able to spot the delicate butterflies dancing past fresh from their cocoons! Only ever for a fleeting moment however, these mysterious creatures just seem to dissapear a quickly as they come into your line of sight. Instead of catching one with a net as a pet, why not pop this pretty ring on your finger as it will never flutter on by. £12.

The sun has been out all day in Edinburgh, giving us all a glimpse of life without winter coats. For a few hours today, we even managed an al fresco lunch and Sunday paper read at one of Edinburgh's lovely green spaces, proudly accompanied by a brand new picnic blanket. Made here in Britain, by a super fun company called Anorak, our kissing stags blanket (see above) brings a touch of design to a very durable outdoor product. Their range of other goodies is pretty darn good to, so make sure you get on their site and order yours in time for all that lovely weather coming our way!
