It’s National Record Store Day. You can’t beat the smell and feel of a brand new vinyl record. Especially when it’s bought from your favourite local record store.

We love that there’s been a resurgence in vinyl record sales, especially at a time where more and more people are using music streaming services.

We can’t sell you records but we do have some pretty cool music related treats for you.

Bunnies on Holiday 🐰🐰🏖

We’re so close to cracking open the chocolate eggs that the Easter Bunny will hopefully be bringing us this week.

There are many folklore tales on the origin of the Easter Bunny, many believe he has German origins and dates back to early 19th century. He is thought to lay colourful eggs? Sounds a little strange, Others say he is thought to deliver Chocolate and Toys to children that had been good on the eve before Easter. So he’s kinda like Santa.        A Giant Bunny that brings Chocolate get’s the thumbs up from us!👍

Whilst we all enjoy some down time with the family. Have you ever wondered what Mr Rabbit get’s up to in his spare time? We have a few ideas.

Love is most definitely in the air today, every hour or so we have seen a flurry of Brides running past the gallery windows and there have been sightings of Grooms Men dressed in broccoli!  It can only mean one thing, the return of the Greater Grassmarket Walking Wedding Fair, packed full of wonderful Wedding Ideas!  As the sun has had it’s hat on today, there has been a vibrant, bustling feel to the Grassmarket. Creative Electric have presented a series of wedding themed performances (not all involving broccoli), a wonderful brass band filling the air with music and there are all the usual tasty treats from the weekly food market.The Apex International Hotel is the indoor base for today’s wedding fair, with fashion shows and stalls from local businesses all of whom can help you plan your wedding. The Red Door Gallery is delighted to present a display of our artist’s works and wedding stationary.  From our personally tailored gift list service to helping source your wedding stationary and favours, there is a lot we can do to add some personal artistry to your big day.

Creative Easter 🐣🐰

The Easter break is in full swing, time to recharge the batteries, have fun with your family and get creative. We’ve got some great craft kids for adults and kids alike. From paper craft to weaving, we’ve got you covered.

Our window is awash with pastel colours and beautiful Marbled Eggs hand made by Nicky 😊. This would be the perfect fun activity to get creative.

Abstract Notions

This week sees the arrival of lots of bold and colourful new work.  If you’re a big fan of colour and shape then you’re going to love what we’ve got behind our Red Doors.

New Jewellery has arrived from Inca Starzinsky. It’s a beautiful collection made up from layered abstract acrylic pieces in an amazing array of colours. We’ve all got our eyes on one of her beautiful pieces. The fluro red necklace above is definitely a staff favourite this week.😍

The new prints from Josie Molloy are a match made in abstract heaven to our new jewellery. If you’re looking for a bold graphic statement piece for your wall then Josie’s prints are sure to fit the bill. Each print is a limited edition 5 or 6 colour screen print. Each print is hand screen printed by Josie in her London studio. They are small edition and hand signed by the artist.
